Martin Scorsese’s 'Killers of the Flower Moon' Officially Begun Filming.


Raising Expectations, The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF + MO) and Apple Original Films, announces the filming of Martin Scorsese's next film, Killers of the Flower Moon, officially today, April 19.

Thus, in an interview with Collider magazine on April 8, screenwriter Eric Roth lifted the veil on some details of the film dedicated to the massacre in Oklahoma in the 1920s of members of the Osages Native American nation, which will bring together Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert From Niro.

“I know Marty is trying to make a film that would probably be the last western ever shot like this, with incredible documentation on social, violence and the environment. I think it is unlike anything known, it will be something that has never been seen in any way. And so this one, for me, will make an impression, ”Roth told Collider magazine.

Roth was interviewed at the upcoming Oscar night premiere as producer of the feature Mank which leads the nominees with 10 caps. Roth has attached an Oscar in the past, for the screenplay for Forrest Gump.

In recent months, details have been trickling out regarding Scorsese's next film. Besides DiCaprio and De Niro, we know that the film is set to star Jesse Plemons, Canadian actress Tantoo Cardinal, Lily Gladstone and several others.

The film is an Apple production and the budget is estimated at $200 million, Killers of the Flower Moon will certainly be an undertaking. Shooting on location in The Osage Nation is very important for telling this true tale, and will require dozens of sets, costumes and extras in order to effectively transport viewers into the story. Time and time again, Scorsese has delivered, and his late-career films prove to be just as dynamic as his earlier ones.

The film will be distributed by Paramount and stream on Apple TV+. No release date has yet been announced.
