Raising
Expectations, The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF + MO) and Apple Original
Films, announces the filming of Martin Scorsese's next film, Killers of
the Flower Moon, officially today, April 19.
Thus, in an interview
with Collider magazine on April 8, screenwriter Eric Roth lifted the veil on
some details of the film dedicated to the massacre in Oklahoma in the 1920s of
members of the Osages Native American nation, which will bring together
Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert From Niro.
“I know Marty
is trying to make a film that would probably be the last western ever shot like
this, with incredible documentation on social, violence and the environment. I
think it is unlike anything known, it will be something that has never been
seen in any way. And so this one, for me, will make an impression, ”Roth told
Collider magazine.
Roth was
interviewed at the upcoming Oscar night premiere as producer of the feature
Mank which leads the nominees with 10 caps. Roth has attached an Oscar in the
past, for the screenplay for Forrest Gump.
In recent
months, details have been trickling out regarding Scorsese's next film. Besides
DiCaprio and De Niro, we know that the film is set to star Jesse Plemons,

The film is
an Apple production and the budget is estimated at $200 million, Killers of the
Flower Moon will certainly be an undertaking. Shooting on location in The Osage
Nation is very important for telling this true tale, and will require dozens of
sets, costumes and extras in order to effectively transport viewers into the
story. Time and time again, Scorsese has delivered, and his late-career films
prove to be just as dynamic as his earlier ones.
The film will
be distributed by Paramount and stream on Apple TV+. No release date has yet
been announced.
