The 21st edition of the
Marrakech International Film Festival FIFM unfolded between November 29
and December 7, 2024, showcasing its enduring commitment to bridging global
cultures and celebrating cinematic excellence. Over the years, FIFM has become
a vital hub for filmmakers, critics, and enthusiasts, and this year’s edition
was no exception, marked by stunning red-carpet moments, powerful storytelling,
and a celebration of diversity in cinema.
This year's festival brought
together 70 films from 32 countries, spanning various genres and perspectives.
The event comprised several sections:
- Official Competition:
Showcasing 14 first and second feature films from emerging filmmakers
worldwide.
- Gala Screenings and Special Screenings: Featuring critically acclaimed titles and global
premieres.
- 11th Continent:
Focused on experimental and non-traditional storytelling.
- Panorama of Moroccan Cinema: Highlighting local talent and national stories.
- Family Screenings:
Including films designed for young audiences.

with Justin Kurzel’s crime thriller “The Order”, a film that previously
earned accolades at the festival.

audiences. Other honors included Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director
awards, recognizing excellence in cinematic craft.
